Academics
UT Tyler offers more than 90 undergraduate and graduate degrees, including a Ph.D. in nursing.
Ph.D. programs in nursing and human resource development are being planned.
UT Tyler has five colleges:

Campus
UT Tyler’s main campus consists of about 200 acres nestled into the beautiful pine and oak forests of East Texas.
The University has satellite campuses in nearby cities of Longview and Palestine.
The Herrington Patriot Center includes a state-of-the-art fitness center with cardio-theater and circuit training, racquetball court, indoor walking/jogging track and gymnasium/convocation area with basketball/volleyball court and seating for 2,000. Heated pool and spa.
UT Tyler’s R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center attracts a wide array of cultural entertainment, and 26,000 patrons attend the performances annually.
We offer more than 80 student organizations including Greek fraternities and sororities.

Total Fall 2007 enrollment was 6,150.
5,346 are undergraduates.
Student to Faculty ratio is 16-to-1.
60 percent of the student body is female and 40 percent are male.
Tyler students represent 45 nations, 35 states and 131 counties.

The number of full-time equivalent students grew a dramatic 81.5 percent between 1999 and 2004.

UT Tyler contributed $208.2 million and 1,913 permanent jobs to the city of Tyler.

UT Tyler has graduated 4 of every 10 professional nurses in East Texas.

Graduates of UT Tyler are leaders in East Texas public and private schools where they impact 20 percent of all students.
 


Noteworthy

UT Tyler is the only public university engineering program east of Dallas and north of Houston.

UT Tyler’s nursing program is the third largest in Texas.

The College of Education ties fourth in Texas for producing teachers who remain in the profession after five years.
